That’s why we’re proud to be a certified B Corporation. B Corps are a group of for-profit companies, certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability and transparency.

These standards match perfectly with our company values. There are many requirements but here are a few that we are most proud to meet:

The promotion of women to management positions:

We are privately owned by three siblings, including two sisters, so women are amply represented in management. Also, women make up at least half the staff in every department, at every level.

The employment of newcomers to Canada:

We employ people from all over the world, and promote a diverse and respectful work environment where employees are encouraged to provide their own insights and perspectives.

The introduction of Zero Waste Initiatives:

We work hard to ensure a zero waste workplace and we are awaiting Zero Waste certification. Waste is handled and sorted very carefully, and extra costs are incurred to guarantee that recyclable products do not end up in the landfill. We have initiated a company-wide recovery and recycling program. This spring, we will hold an employee event to collect personal e-waste.

The endorsement of an inclusive work environment:

We have designed a beautiful lunchroom and lounge where all staff – including our President – sit together to eat. We organize a yearly company-wide meeting to review past successes and discuss future plans so that employees at every level have a full understanding of our goals. Also, we host a Christmas lunch in which every employee, including temp agency workers, receive a year-end bonus.

The operation of a sustainable business model:

Since all our products are certified organic, we can actively work towards the protection of the land, water, farmers, and consumers from harmful herbicides and pesticides. All ingredients are very carefully sourced, and paid for in fair prices to ensure workers are compensated with a fair wage.
